How to Make Sushi:

Sushi is a Japanese dish that is known to be a very complex and long progress.  However, by watching a demonstration video on “How to Make Sushi,” I have learned that it can be an easy homemaking process. Two instructors and one commentator on the side taught this video on Youtube.
They’re where many positive points in the video that helped make the sushi process clear and easy to follow. They explained each ingredient, and informed the audience on where to get the materials. I was able to learn the purpose for each step by watching the two instructors work together and using the visual aids. For example, they did a great job explaining how to distribute the rice on the nori sheet, and why you need a ½ inch gap around the edges to roll sushi.  I also enjoyed how the steps where simple and clear, so when I custom my sushi, I will be able to include my favorite ingredients. Their recipe included ingredients such as: salmon, cucumber, and wasabi; while my roll will include favorites like avocado and tuna.
However, this video did have a few drawbacks that they can improve in the future. I don’t feel like the commentator on the side was useful, but made the video confusing when he spoke. At times, he was trying to be funny and include extra information, but it never was comical or informative At the end, I also think it would have been good to include information on how to present and serve the sushi. For instance, should there be sauces to dip, healthy condiments, or any other side items that i should include?
Overall, I feel the video was very informative and showed me how I could make sushi at home. I learned new Japanese terms such as nori sheets (seaweed sheets), bamboo mats (sushi mats), and the use of each item. I think sushi making is a fun group process, and look forward to teaching the instructions to my friends.
